Why I'm Running
I’m running to represent the people of the 18th House District of Tennessee in Knox County. Folks are tired of partisan squabbling. It’s time to work together.
When I ran the Election office, we had Democrats, Republicans & Independents working together. We put aside our differences, rolled up our sleeves and got the job done. We need more of that in Nashville.
There are too many people who cannot afford health insurance. Recently, I talked to two families in my neighborhood who don’t have any coverage at all because they can’t afford it. They’re not alone. In fact, there are 25,000 Tennessee Veterans who don’t have health insurance.
We can do better.
If I’m elected, I will go to Nashville to kick the embers of Healthcare expansion and work to get it passed.
We have so many hardworking folks in the district who can’t seem to get ahead. We need good jobs with real benefits. It’s time to make investments in our people and in our communities. The long-term answer is to provide our children with the best possible education. Our children should be the focus of state government. We should be proud that nearly every child in Tennessee has health care coverage and that high school graduates can pursue higher education, tuition-free.
But there is so much more to be done. If you elect me, I’m ready to get to work.
